The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread at unprecedented speed all over the world. The first outbreak of COVID-19 was in Wuhan, China, where Chinese anesthesiologists had to encounter increasing numbers of infected patients since December 2019. The first case of COVID-19 was reported in early December 2019 in and it was called as pneumonia. Approximately 15 to 20% of patients with COVID-19 required some form of oxygen therapy and ventilation support. Anesthesiologists who are responsible for airway management are at enhanced risk, if not the highest risk, of contamination.

Anesthesiologists may encounter and care for patients with Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) in their roles as experts in emergent airway management, acute and intensive care, and perioperative anesthesia. And the care they provide imposes a significant risk to their own health.

The story of 18 anesthesiologists and two anesthesia nurses from five different hospitals forming a garrison team and performing nearly 50 intubations for critically ill patients with COVID-19 over a period of eight days has become well known, with the team being called “coronavirus intubation team racing against death”.

Anaesthesiologists and other perioperative care providers are particularly at high risk when providing respiratory care and tracheal intubation for patients suffering with COVID-19. Therefore Anesthesiologists are called as the front lines in the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic. One of the chief tasks of Anesthesiologists in current situation is the intubation of patients on ventilators, in this process anesthesiologist can be exposed to potential infections and contamination.

Anesthesiologists play a vital role in the war againts COVID-19 for a simple and handle a dangerous job.

They operate ventilators, which is commimnly used for fighting the severe cases of shortage of oxygen because of this new coronavirus.

They’ve accepted this frontline assignment with a shortage of equipment and at risk to their own health.

Journal of Anesthesia & Clinical Research has always aimed of supporting anaesthesiologists by providing a platform for publication and understands that anesthesia is an integral and important part of any major surgical procedure.

In this current situation authors and researchers can submit their work by visiting the journal website.

We are using Editorial Manager System for quality in review process. Review processing is performed by the editorial board members of Journal of Anesthesia & Clinical Research or outside experts; at least two independent reviewers approval followed by editor's approval is required for acceptance of any citable manuscript.

Recently the journal has published an article entitled “Operating Room and Personnel During COVID-19 Pandemic in Case, When Clinic is Not Yet on Front-Line”, we feel honour and expect some for submissions.
